The suitors arrive in the Underworld after being killed by Odysseus. They meet Agamemnon and hear about how he died. The suitors tell him about their fate, and he does not take the side of the suitors but takes the side of Odysseus and his wife.
Meanwhile the suitors describe to Agamemnon how they died, in the underworld.
"I remember it all, your majety, as you say, and I will tell you, start to finish now, the story of death (24. 131-135).
"Son of old Laertes- mastermind-what a fine wife you won!" (24. 210-212)
In this scene it shows how the familie of the suitors sought to avenge their sons. This is one of the attempts by Eupeithes, which ends up being unsuccessful for him, with Odysseus defending himself.
"Antinous's Father, Eupeithes, rushed at once at Odysseus with a dagger, stabbing it full force at his right shoulder. But Odysseus hit him under the jaw with his right fist and crushed his bones
In this passage Odyscomes home to his Father without him knowing who he is, as he is disguised as the beggar. Eventually Odysseus reveals himself and his Father is overjoyed.
"Father, I am your son , myself, the one you are seeking." (24. 359)
