  • Rosa Parks Biography On December 1, 1955 Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat on a segregated bus, causing her arrest and court trials. She was taking her stand and making a point. She helped institute a bus boycot, which lasted 381 days and ended with a supreme court ruling saying that segregation on buses was unconstitutional and no longer allowed in montgomery. Rosa Parks did her duty and played a major role in ending segregation.
