  • Grace got an allergic reaction to perfume that one of her classmates were wearing. The pathogen entered Grace's nose due to the classmate spraying it within two feet of her. As it entered her nose, the first white blood cells responders activated. The Neutraphils saw the invader and decided to send out signals to the other white blood cells.
  • As Grace was walking home, the work of the eosinophils started to kick in after the Neutraphils signaled them. They started to produce allergy symptoms due to the histamines produced by the eosinophils. The eosinophils started to fight off the invader (perfume), but it was too strong. So, the next line of defense had to interfere, the basophils.
  • Achoo... achoo... gosh my eyes are so watery.
  • When Grace arrived home about 5 minutes later, her asthma started to kick in as one of her allergic reactions. This was the work of the Basinophils doing their line of defense for Grace. At this point, Grace knew that she was having an allergic reaction and started looking for the anti-histamine medicine to help minimize the symptoms.
  • Why am I having a hard time breathing??... It has to be that perfume that that one girl sprayed in the locker room.
  • As she was looking for the medicine, her Lymphocyte cells started to interfere with her reaction. They began to directly start killing the invader in her system. The T-cells, specifically, are doing the attacking and are directly killing the foreign pathogen.
  • The more Grace looked for the medicine, the more time the lymphocytes could work their medical magic. While the T-cells are ridding her system of the perfume (pathogen/invader), the other B-cell lymphocytes are using that same time to identify the pathogen and create antibodies to use against the pathogen to help the T-cells kill the invader. Grace had eventually found the medicine and was feeling better. Although, by the time she took the medicine, her reactions weren't that severe anymore.
  • Where is that dang medicine??
  • The pathogen was forced and kill out of the system by the Lymphocytes and all that was left was the dead blood cells. It was a couple hours after she took the medicine and the majority of her allergy symptoms had gone away, It was just her normal allergies that she was dealing with now. At that time, most of her bodies defense line had done their job, except for the Monocytes, who just cleaned up the dead cells. Grace had gotten over her allergic reaction and was finally ready for bed.
  • Never going near that girl or her perfume today. I've had enough of allergic reactions today.
