- Two servants from the house of Capulets talk about their hatred of the Montagues as their master. One of them offend a servant of Montague which elevates into a street brawl.
- Do you bite your thumb at us, sir?
- Peace? Peace. I hate the word, as I hate hell, all Montagues and thee.
- Romeo and Benvolio Montague enter the Capulets party. Romeo spots Juliet Capulet and instantly falls for her. A few seconds later, they share their first kiss. Juliet's nurse comes and fetches her and tells her that she is wanted by her mother. They both find our each others identities.
- For I ne'er saw true beauty till this night
- Romeo sneaks into the Capulet's garden and describe Juliet to himself. Juliet, not knowing that Romeo is listening, talks about how their last names interfere with their love life.
- O Romeo, Romeo! Wherefore art thou Romeo? Deny thy father and refuse thy name. Or if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love and I'll no longer be a Capulet.
- I'll take thee at thy word. Call me but love, and I'll be new baptized. Henceforth, I will never be Romeo.
