- For your 1st project, we want you to create a portrait about yourselves so we can promote all specialized cells. However, we are only going to move forward with one portrait that best represents our company due to our current budget limit. Good Luck!
- Hello! My name is Neuron! I call dibs on my portrait representing CNS because I am the most important! Duh!!! I have so many different types of specialized structures that are part of me including dendrites & axons! I am optimal for information transfer and use ATP as my form of energy!
- Don't be ridiculous Neuron! I have the best structures on me! I, astrocyte, have paddle-like endfeet that literally contact blood vessels! I also have the ability to take up GABA, glutamate, and glycine! No one can top that! I would make the best representation for CNS portrait because I'm obviously the star of the show!
- You two need to stop fighting because I am the one that can BEST represent CNS. I, microglia, a highly motile processes can respond to attractant extracellular signals. I have the powers to engulf debris and foreign dead matters. I practically take care of the CNS by surveying the entire brain in a few hours. I'm also known to be protection against pathogenic factors and I can clean up neuron's mess specifically his superfluous apoptotic neurons!
- Pshhh... YOU ALL need to stop bragging! I, oligo, can wrap a myelin sheath around axons providing insulation so I can increase the speed of impulse propagation! I can also be categorized by quantity of myelination, or by age!
- This is dumb! I am the most important in the CNS company because my primary function is transmission of signals!
- You need to settle down Neuron! Do I have to remind you that I can regulate excitability in highly active neurons?
- EVERYONE CHILL OUT!!We have to work together or one of us can be fired off this project! How can we show that one of us is a vital asset to the CNS company?
- Why can't I just be the face of the CNS company...
- Why should we choose ONE of us? We all work together in CNS anyways, we shouldn't have to fight which one of us is the BEST!
- Oligo, you're right! We all play a role in CNS and CNS works because of all our different personalities!
- Let's work together and create one portrait that will best represent us and the CNS company!
