- Well hello there! Today we are going to learn about the rock cycle!
- We will first learn about the differnt rock types and then how they fit into the rock cycle.
- There are three main types of rocks, Sedamentairy, Metamorphic, and igneus rocks.
- We are going to first dig into sedimentairy rocks. Sedimentary rocks are the outcome of sediments which come from either metamorpic or igneus rock as they weather or through lithafacation. These sediments are next compacted together until they hardedn into one rock.
- But that is not where the journie ends, sedamentairy rock can also erode and weather back into sediments! Because of this it is possible for the sediments to constantly be in a cycle of compacting and then eroding and breaking down into sediments again.
- But the sedimentary rock can also go through a stage of heat and preassure until it forms into metamorpic rock. Metamorphic rock is the outcome of when heat and preassure and how overtime it can turn into metamorphic rock.
