- Marietta leaves Pittman County to go own the road and find herself. She finds herself in Taylorsville, Illinois, and changes her name to Taylor.
- Taylor finds herself with a Native American toddler that was given to her to keep out of suspected human trafficking.
- Taylor meets her mentor figure, Mattie, who owns Jesus is lord used tires and helps refugees
- Taylor becomes good friends with a women around her age, Lou-Ann, and moves in with her and her son, Dwayne Ray
