  • Thrice, the brinded cat hath mewed
  • Thrice, and once the hedge-pig whined
  • though the treasure Of nature's germens tumble all together Even till destruction sicken, answer me To what I ask you.

  • Beware Macduff! Beware the Thane of Fife! Dismiss me.
  • The three witches just entered the cave. The three witches chant out their part of the spell. As they chant out their spell, they add items to the cauldron such as died animals like snakes.
  • Be bloody, bold, and resolute. Lugh to scorn The power of man, for none of woman born shall harm Macbeth
  • Macbeth has just entered the cave asking the witches to show him his prophecy using their dark magic. He tells them he does not care how the witches get the information, he just wants it.
  • Be lion-mettled, proud, and take no care Who chafes, who frets, or where conspirers are. Macbeth Birnam Wood to high Dusinane Hill Shall come against him.
  • The first Apparition comes to deliver the information to Macbeth. He warns Macbeth to watch out for Macduff, cause he might be planning something to remove Macbeth from the throne.
  • Thou art too like the spirit of Banquo
  • The second apparition tells Macbeth there is nothing to worry about, no man can take his throne away from him. This reassures Macbeth as he has no one to fear anymore about taking his throne.
  • The third apparition tells Macbeth to take courage as their is no way he can be defeated. Unless the Birnam Woods expand to Dunsinane Hill.
  • After the third apparition vanishes, Macbeth demands more information be given on the prophecies. He demands the witches to give him more answers. The cauldron disappears before the witches chant the word 'show'. Eight kings appear plus Banquo. Leaving Macbeth to be in shock.
