I was born in Edinburgh, Scotland on March 3rd of 1847. Then I moved to Canada Then on to the United States.

I love the science of sound and really like to study about it. I contribute important things to the detection of hearing loss.
Why are you so interested in the science of sound?
I am interested because my wife and mother are deaf so I wanted to help them with their disability.
That is very cool! Do you know anything about the telephone?
In fact the telephone is one of my greatest inventions yet.
