Tabitha was sad and lonely. Every day, she searched the forest to find a new friend, but no one would talk to her.
It was always the same story, just a different day. They were either too busy or disinterested. It made her so sad, she even trying making friends with a snake! But, he wasn't interested in being her friend either.
One day, the forest caught fire. Animals were scared, and running as fast they could to escape. In the all of the ruckus, a poor little field mouse became stuck behind a huge flame. Tabitha, being able to jump, quickly grabbed the field mouse in her mouth and carried her to safety.
The field mouse was so grateful, she could couldn't stop thanking Tabitha. In fact, she was so happy a small tear escaped from the corner of her eye.
The more they talked, the happier they were. Tabitha learned that the field mouse was just as lonely as she was.
It didn't take long for the two to become best friends
