- Hansberry wants the audience to be shocked by having a plot twist right when everything is going well. This makes them realize that you must go through a lot of hardships in order to peruse your dreams, it will make you make you realize the more important things in life that you missed when focusing too much on your dream journey.
- Lena Younger received a $10,000 insurance check and her son, Walter Younger decides to invest in a liquor store along with his mates, Bobo and Willy.
- Falling Action
- The theme of dreams is shown in this scene, when Lena finally pursues her dream of having enough money to buy a place she and her family can call home.
- Lena decides to use the money to buy a house for all of them and she gives the rest to Walter for his investment and his sister's tuition.
- Denouement
- Everyone is happy as they tour the new house. Linder, a white man from the welcoming committee, says that the neighbors and him want to make an offer.
- Bobo comes over to tell Walter that Willy had run away with the investment money. Everyone was devastated so Walter called Linder over to accept his offer.
- In the end, Linder comes over, but Walter realizes thathe will not trade his pride for money and that family comes first. He rejects the offer and they all move in.
