  • Let me tell you why I don't agree with that
  • in some specific cases these students require a different setting
  • Inclusion should be considered in case-by-case basis keeping in mind the least restrictive environment in which students thrive(this could be gen-ed or contained)
  • often times students regress because they either feel overwhelmed and educators can't provide specific supports due to gen ed class sizes
  • exactly!
  • Issue 6: Should Special Education Be Redefined and Redesigned?
  • Defining inclusion in this way requires us to redefine other classroom practices. For example, access can mean, Is there a ramp? But it can also mean, Will letters home to parents be written in a language they can understand?
  • supporting and providing services for all students
  • All educators can and should come together and promote the practices of differentiation, curricular adaptations, and universal design for successful learning, support, and education advancement
  • students shouldn't have to earn their way into a gen ed environment
  • I guess we both make good points
