POINT OF VIEW
Point of view is the vantage point from which a story is told. It is the stance from which the action and events of the story unfold. The three most common types are first person, third person limited, and third person omniscient.
THIRD PERSON OMNISCIENT
Hi! Let me tell you about the time I went to the store...
My friend Kiana went to the store last week...
FIRST PERSON
THIRD PERSON LIMITED
The store owner was devastated to learn he had accidentally locked Kiana in the store overnight.
First person is told by the main character using "I, me, my"; third person limited uses "he, she, they" and describes the events, but cannot reveal more than the main character's thoughts; third person omniscient can access any character's thoughts or feelings.
