- After watching the dog fights they noticed something floating in the sky, as they ran to get a closer look they noticed it was a dead Fritz so they looted him as they passed each other a bottle of alcohol but were chased by the red army. Lev looks behind and sees Vera struggling so he helps her as he gets caught and taken as a prisoner.
- after meeting with another prisoner named Kolya who was accused of a deserter they were sent to the crenel where they were told what might happen to them as they watch his daughter skating outside on the snow but then they were requested to do an odd task which was to search for a dozen eggs for his daughters wedding cake that was meant for the big day 
- after facing off with some cannibals they decided to head to the chicken coop but when they arrived to it they were greeted by a couple of girls that warned them when they go in but they soon realized that the old man guarding the coop was dead but there was a boy sitting down and starving next to the old man they tried to convince him to get out of there but he didn't listen, instead he gave a small chicken and asked for them to leave 
- “Comrade!, Don’t shoot! We’re here on special orders!”
- they went into the house where thy met a couple of people and one of them was a doctor, they ate and talked about getting eggs out of the chicken on time before the wedding but the more they tried they just couldn't so they tried to warm it up and help it but it was no use so instead they were told that it was not a hen but instead it was a rooster.
- once they left the house they chose to go to "Mga" a frontline that has been under German territory they found a 10 ruble with a note on it that had been dropped by the fritz as they kept walking they heard a howl as they followed they realize they were dead dogs and one that had bullet wounds dragging its back legs kolya asked to see the knife lev has been carrying and puts the dog out of its misery and go along there way
- After  passing the dead dogs they proceeded through the same spot they were next to the rail road and came across a Russian soldier standing still in the open so they got closer with there hands up and realized that he was dead so they get closer and find a sign with a message around his neck set by the German Nazi's they looted him and took a hand gun with three magazines
