טקסט Storyboard

  • Battles of Lexington and Concord, April, 1775
  • Olive Branch Petition, July, 1775
  • The American Colonies are rebels!
  • Siege of Boston, March 1776
  • The battles of Lexington and Concord were the first battles of the war. Even those these were before the Olive Branch Petition and the Declaration of Independence, they warned of what was to come. The British had been successful at Lexington, but would go on to literally get slaughtered at Concord.
  • The Olive Branch Petition was signed for two reasons and rejected for one. The reasons for being signed were, a final chance at peace to please the people in the colonies that were unsure of a war; the second reason being it gave King George one final chance to give in. The reason it was rejected by the King was because he did not read it and then proceeded to send the Proclamation of Rebellion.
  • The eleven month long siege of Boston by the Patriots effectively weakened the British forces, by blocking them from moving on land. This siege also included the Battle of Bunker Hill. This event and the time that they surrounded the British was a huge success for the Patriots as they were able to gain morale.
