- Hey , Do you know anything about Factors and Multiples ?
- Yes , I do know about it . Let me help you .
- The numbers that are multiplied to get a product are called factors . Eg . Factors of 24 are =1 , 2, 3, 4 , 6, 8, 12, 24 . We can get multiples of a number by multiplying that number by 1, 2, 3, 4 so on . Eg . Multiples of 5 are =5, 10, 15, 20 .

- OK , So, basically factors are found by dividing while multiples are by multiplication.

- Every number is thegreatest factor of itself.
- Every number is a multiple of itself every number is a multiple of 1
- Every multiple of a number is greater than or equal to the number itself .

- Now , can you give me some real life examples ?
- If you have 16 apples and want to distribute them equally among 4 people , you can use the factorsof 16 (1, 2 , 4 , 8 , 16 ) to figure out how many apples each person gets . Since , 4 is a factor of 16 . So, each person would get 4 apples .
