- Siddhartha gautama was born after his mother had a strange dream. shortly after his birth his mother died.
- his father was visited by someone who said that siddhartha would be either a spiritual leader or a ruler. the father wanted him to be a ruler and for that reason kept him locked up in a castle giving him everything he wanted,
- when siddhartha first saw a glimpse of outside life he got very curios and had a bunch of questions which he tried to understand. also his behavior changed after this.
- siddhartha later made 4 trips outside of the palace. on his first trip siddhartha encounters the old, disease, and death.
- after that siddhartha sees the poor and he realizes that everything is going to die or crumble away someday, and then he decides to go poor for a while just to know how it feels.this is also where he first experiences everything on another level.
- after that siddhartha meditates under a tree until he reaches enlightenment for 49 days(meditating). he then becomes known as the buddha
