- How does a bill become a law?
- Yea I do, lets go for a walk and I can tell you all about it!
- Hey sir, do you by chance know how a bill becomes a law?
- So first, the bill is introduced to the House of Representatives or the Senate and assigned a name and #.
- Next, the bill is referred to the appropriate committee by the Speaker of the House, the Vice President, or the Senate Majority for study. Where they collect information, hold hearings, and suggest changes to make a simple resolution. The quorum must be met for this to be performed. If approved it is sent to the Full House or full senate.

- Once the bill is read, two things can be pressented. If the bill is argued in the Rules committee or better known as the House of Represntives , then it will be sent to the senate if approved. If the bill is argued by the senate, it will be sent to the House if approved.
- Once all these steps are complete, the House of Representatives will send the bill to the senate to repeat these steps and vis versa.
- Then the conference committee considers the differences between the House of representatives bill and the senate bill to come up with a joint resolution. Once the conference committee has their session of discussion, the revised bill will sent back through both the house and senate to go through the first 4 steps again.
- Once the House and senate vote on the final passage, it is then signed and approved by the majority and sent to the president.

- Once the bill reaches the president, 1 of 3 things can happen. The president can absolute veto the bill which cannot be overridden, he can veto the bill though Congress can override the vote by a 2/3 vote both houses which establishes the bill as a law, or the president can sign the bill and make it a law.
