That sounds perfect. Thank you. I am a little concerned about Bobby's grades in your class so far.
Sure, I understand. Well, he's very well respected by his classmates and showed some very interesting ideas, so far. You're right that his grades haven't shown that, though.
Nothing in particular. I have noticed he's had a hard time concentrating on his homework. Is he also distracted in class?
Do you have any particularquestions or concerns you want to address before we get started?
Bobby can be, yes. Sometimes he has trouble completing work independently. As a result, he is not currently meeting the academic expectations for his grade level so far this school year. I've brought a few examples of his work if you'd like to take a look. His other teachers and I have decided to provide him a little more structure on his assignments and pair him with a peer mentor to work with outside of class.
I understand. That would be very helpful. I will try to keep an eye on his work at home as well.
We've also decided to have him check out with us near the end of each class so he has an opportunity to ask questions. We're hoping this will help prevent any future misunderstandings and provide him the support he needs to succeed this year.I can also send you the checklist for this year's standards as well, if you'd like to stay updated on his progress.
That would be great. Thank you for letting me know about this. I hope he can start to improve.
Great. Thank you again for coming to meet with me. I will follow up with you via email in the coming week.
