  • During the Paleolithic Era, the humans that lived were "hunter-gatherers." The men were the hunters, while the women were the gatherers.

  • People living in the Paleolithic Era lived in small huts or caves, and painted the animals they hunted on the cave walls.
  • We can have food today!
  • The humans that lived during the Paleolithic Era were nomadic, so they didn't have permanent settlements. They moved according to the herds of animals they were following.
  • Look, it's a herd of mammoths!
  • New things were developed at this time
  • A turning point is a point in time when something changes drastically. An example of this would be the Neolithic Revolution that would happen very soon.

  • The Neolithic Revolution was a point in time where agriculture was developed. Farmers would grow crops such as grain, wheat, and barley. This resulted in a surplus supply of food. Also, humans started the domestication of animals.

  • Settlements were developed due to agriculture. Houses were made of mud-brick and tools were made out of stone, wood, antlers, and other materials. There were around 5000-8000 people living in each civilization.
  • Permanent Settlements were created and populations increased drastically
  • Since the humans settled down in one area, the population grew and jobs developed. People worked on what they were good at, such as farmers or toolsmiths. There was a government and rules in each civilization, and therefore, social classes were formed.
  • Jobs and social classes were developed. People had different roles
  • Civilizations were able to develop and humans were settled.
