- In ancient times, a king used poetic justice to decide if a person is innocent or guilty. The accused is allowed to choose between two doors. Behind one door is a ferocious tiger, behind the other is a fair maiden to whom the person is married immediately.
- The King loved his daughter, who was as cold hearted as him. She was in a clandestine romance with a young man. They carried on a secret affair for months which the king is unaware of.
- Their affair was a happy one—at least until the king found out about it. He ordered that the young man be imprisoned, and condemned him to trial by arena for aspiring to one so far above him.
- he sends out his soldiers to find the most ferocious and dangerous man-eating tiger to be put behind one of the doors. The softer side of him chooses one of the most beautiful maidens for the young man to be put behind the other door. finally the day of the trial came..
- the princess had found out the secret of who is behind each of the doors although It didn’t matter to the king whether the young for in either case he would be disposed of (through marriage or death), and the king would enjoy the trial regardless. the lover looked at the princess and she raised her right arm to the right door
- and the story ends with all of us wondering, which door did the young man pick? did he listen to his lover and choose the right door or did he choose the other door, and most importantly who came out of the door the lady or the tiger?
