טקסט Storyboard

  • Scene 1
  • I don't know Justin. It doesn't seem worth our time.
  • Yo Rick, you see those girls over there. I bet those purses are worth a lot of money.
  • Scene 2
  • Do you want some candy?
  • Scene 3
  • Get after them now or you'll be the one with a gun to your head!
  • Okay, will do.
  • Rick is a 20 year old kid, who lives in the Southside of Chicago. He's been working for a local gang for the past 10 years.
  • Scene 4
  • Sorry to bother you both, but I'm being forced to rob you or I'll be in big trouble. Can you please give me your purses.
  • At the age of 10, after being kicked out of his apartment from his abusive mother, he was kidnapped by the gang. He has been living a life of crime and deviance ever since.
  • Scene 5
  • Why did you let them get away? I should kill you right now.
  • Rick has become increasingly distant from his gang and wants out, but he is afraid of what will happen to him if he tries to leave.
  • Scene 6
  • You're off the hook this time, but this is your last chance.
  • Rather than making an actual attempt to rob the girls, Rick is merely going through the motions, not committed to his role.
  • Umm...No.
  • Distancing himself from his role has now caught up to him, regardless of whether he's morally doing what is right.
  •
  • I'm so sorry, I won't do it again. Please don't hurt me.
  • Rick has engaged in role distancing which is removing himself from his role to see as though it's not his true self. He displayed this by not chasing after the girls immediately, and by not making a real attempt to rob them. Unfortunately for Rick he can't afford to continue role distancing because he'll risk losing his life. It's important to know that whatever situation you're in, it's often a good idea to stick to your role.
  • Understood.
