- Meg is the oldest of the 4 sisters. She is 16 years old.
- Meg works the hardest of any of the sisters. She works as a governess to help support her family. She hates her job since she works for wealthy families. But she does her best to ignore her burden.
- Meg's main problem is she envies her wealthy friends' luxurious, indulgent lifestyles. She wants stuff that other people have.
- We can confirm this because, in chapter 9, she allows the Moffats to dress her up in fancy clothes with lots of makeup and jewelry. Also, she lets her friends call her daisy instead of her real name.
- Also, in chapter 28, John has always trusted Meg with their money and she's never abused that trust. But since Meg envies Sallie's wealth, she buys a lot of things that aren't necessary.
- I decided to depict Meg because as the oldest sibling, I understand the pressure she carries. Also, even though she envies wealthy people, she still learns to value simple things more because of the hard work that it takes to earn them.
