- They all go to a hotel to cool off and Tom decides to confront Gatsby. Tom lets everyone know that he is aware of Gatsby and Daisy's affair and Gatsby admits to it. He tells Tom that Daisy "never loved [him]" and Tom tries to win Daisy over by recalling some of their old memories (Fitzgerald 130). When Gatsby asks Daisy to tell Tom she doesn't love him, she says she can't say that becaause she did love him at one point. Gatsby and Daisy then drive away back to the West egg.
- Daisy loves me, NOT YOU! Tell him Daisy!
- You are a LIAR
- Just stop it !
- Daisy and Gatsby leave the hotel in a hurry when Myrtle suddenly runs out into the road thinking she sees Tom's car. Daisy can't stop in time and hits her, killing her immediately. Gatsby talked to Daisy and ,"tried to make her stop, but she couldn't" because of the shock (Fitzgerald 144). He took her back to her house, hid Tom's car at his house, and waited outside of the Buchanan's mansion until four in the morning to make sure Daisy was ok.
- I CAN'T!
- Daisy STOP, TURN AROUND
- Wilson comes to the conclusion that it was Gatsby that killed his wife and he wants revenge. He goes to his house and finds Gatsby as he is floating in th pool. Wilson shoots Gatsby, and then himself ending both of their lives.
