- Atalanta's father was majorly disappointed during her birth. He wanted a son but instead received a daughter. Since he was bore a daughter he left on a mountain.This was one of the major events of Atlanta's life.
- After Atalanta's abandonment she was taken by a she-bear to be raised. With the help of the bear she grew up to be very active and a risk taker. After this happened however, a group of hunters discovered her. The Hunters took her home and raised her so that she became a skilled hunter.
- Atalanta wanted to be a part of the Argo so she walked into the masculine meeting of the other members. Upon her entrance one of the members Meleager fell in love with her when laying his upon her. She did not believe him to be anymore than a friend however, so he tried to prove himself when the group was fighting the boar by dealing the final blow.
- During the fight of the boar two of Meleager's brothers died. His mother wanted revenge because of this s she trapped fire in a chest. Meleager fell for her trap and opened the chest which flamed in his face. This led to his death and also the shock and death of his mother.
- Atalanta would not marry any man unless they could beat her in a foot race. Melanion took up this offer however and was given a handful of golden apples from the god Aphrodite. These apples were only visible to the gods so this is how he would win.
- During their race Melanion had thrown an apple under her feet to trip her to which he then took the lead. However she swiftly stood back up and was gaining. Melanion saw this and dropped another apple and crossed the finish line as the victor. After this Atalanta was married to Melanion and they turned into lions with the help of Zeus.
