- I'm Squeaky and i live in New York, I love running and my brother, Raymond, who i have to take care of because of his disability.
- 1. what grade are you in now, Raymond?
- 3. What are you, his mother?
- 2. You got anything to say to my brother, you say it to me .
- 4. That´s right, Fatso.
- 1, 2 ... oh no its Gretchen and her minions
- is that Raymond? Running?!

- Squeaky is a young girl committed to her running and lives in New York City. She has to take care of her older brother Raymond, who has a disability.
- Raymond would make a fine runner. Ican always retire as a runner and begin a whole new career as a coach withRaymond as my champion.

- Squeaky trains hard for her race and comes across Gretchen and her sidekicks
- Gretchen's good, she is obviously is serious about running and any fool can see that.
- Squeaky wins
- Squeaky and Gretchen race against each other, and while they are racing, Raymond starts running as well and they cross the white ribbon.
- The lesson learned in "Raymond's Run" by Toni Cade Bambara is that you should be understanding and respect others, At the end Squeaky respects as a runner and no longer thinks of Raymond as a brother who she has to take care of and instead as someone she can train to be a great runner. She sees a new side to things and ends up understanding and respecting others.
- They are left wondering who won or if it is a tie , while Squeaky is proud her brother and thinks of coaching him as a runner
- Squeaky wins and respects Gretchen as a good runner.
