One day Keawe, a native of Hawaii, decides to visit other lands and embarks on a ship headed for San Francisco.
...The consequences...
Where Keawe is fascinated to see a beautiful house, whose owner, instead, seems sad and lonely, Keawe wonders how the owner of such a beautiful house can be so unhappy.
...The desired mansion...
Amazed, the old man tells him that in this bottle lives a demon surrounded by the fires of hell that can allocate any wish, except one: to prolong a person's life.
...Leprosy...
To do this, the owner of the bottle should carry out a sequence of requirements: he should sell the bottle to another person before dying and sell the bottle at a lower price than he bought it or he will go to hell where evil dwells.
Keawe considers that he is being scammed by this man, however he considers it good and ends up with the bottle in his possession, resigned, he wants to be the owner of a huge mansion in Kona, Hawaii.
Having seen his dream come true, Keawe sells the bottle to Lopaka, a friend, and lives happily in what he calls the shining house. Keawe gets sick with Chinese disease, better known as leprosy, and for that reason he considers abdicating, not only Kokua, but also the house to visit a leper colony.
