- The digestive system starts with the mouth. Your teeth chew up your food into smaller pieces. Saliva helps break down you food, too.
- The Esophagus moves the food down to the Stomach
- Inside the Stomach the food gets mixed with acid. The food gets churned as well. If the food doesn't fully break down it moves to the small intestine.
- The small intestine is very thin and long and gives us time to get all the nutrients from the food.
- All of the waste goes to the big intestine which drains the waste of moisture.
- After that it is stored in the rectum until you go to the Bathroom.
