- Exposition:The girl is asking her mom if she can bring a sandwich to school or money because the kids at her school are mean to her sometimes. She says this in paragraph 3 "it was that some kids called all Mexican Americansbeaners". You can tell in the story she didn't want that to happen "so the last thing I needed was to stand out like a big stupid sign." to her as she states in paragraph 3
- “Mama, can I please have somelunch money too, or a sandwich instead?”
- “Why, mi’ja?You already have these delicious bean tacos toeat.”
- chanting “Taco head!Taco head!”
