luna, a 19 year old girl in college, has been recently struggling with an eating disorder, bulimia. here are three ways her friends, amber, can help luna.
i dont want to make you uncomfortable, luna, but i want you to open up to me about what your'e going through.
hmm.. okay.
now that were done shopping, do you want to go get coffee and talk about it?
okay, amber!
okay, thank you!
im always here for you, amber, i don't want you to feel like im pressuring you to talk about it.
here are two good qualities amber has when supporting her friend, and one bad quality.
here, amber is not making her struggling friend feel pressured, and she is not trying to "fix" her friends problem by telling her things she already knows. a bad quality to have is trying to push your friend to open up when they're not ready.
to me, a friend is someone you can be yourself around, someone who you can express your true humor around and joke the way you normally do. A friend is someone you can sit and do nothing with, and after you're done hanging out with them, your social battery doesn't feel drained and you feel refreshed/happy.
