The narrator receives a letter from his childhood friend, Roderick Usher, asking for a visit from him since he is not feeling good emotional and physically. In addition, Usher and his sister, Madeline, is the only ones left in their bloodline.
The narrator goes to Usher's mansion notices the fungi and spider webs outside the mansion.
As Usher talked, the narrator finds his tone of voice uneven. Usher talked about his medical condition and the worsening of his sister's. While talking about his sister, the narrator could Madeline slowly walk past. She died later that night.
Usher and the narrator bury Madeline's body in one of the vaults underneath the mansion. The narrator then finds out that Usher and Madeline are twins and share some kind of connection.
While reading a book one night, the narrator heard sounds coming from underneath the mansion.
Usher confesses to burying Madeline alive and now she is coming after them. The door flings open and Madeline is there bloody. She throws herself onto Usher killing him. and he narrator runs out and watch the House of Usher destroy.
