- L'ouverture was born enslave on the French colony of Haiti. Francios-Dominique Toussaint L'ouverture also know as Toussaint L'ouverture was a Haitian general and the prominent leader of the Haitian Revolution. Louverture is now known as the "Father of Haiti".

- Toussaint L'ouvertrue led a successful slave revolt and emancipated the slaves in the French colony of Saint-Domingue. He turned the colony into a country governed by former black slaves as a nominal French protectorate and made himself ruler of the entire island of Hispaniola

- One the morning of Apr 7 1803, Toussaint was found dead by a guard in the prison in France where he been held for nearly eight months. Toussaint was suffering from constant fevers, severe stomach aches, loss of appetie and vomiting and inflammation of the body
