טקסט Storyboard

  • ETHOS
  • MLK quotes the Declaration of Independence in this quote. Him doing this points out the hypocrisy of the U.S. as he wishes one day all U.S. citizens will be able to live amongst each other without being discriminated against due to race, gender, nationality, or religion.
  • "I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self - evident that all men are created equal."
  • PATHOS
  • MLK uses his children to relate to his audience emotionally as not only are adults going through the discrimination at this time but their children are too and he recognizes that with this quote. He gains his audiences emotional connection as he also hints at how he will probably not be able to see his children living in this world he dreams of which is sad.
  • "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judges by the color of their skin but by the content of their character."
  • LOGOS
  • In MLK's speech, he uses logos by repeating, "100 years later," in order to convey how African Americans haven't been equal to whites discriminated against even after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed by the President over 100 years ago.
  • "One hundred years later the negro is still not free. One hundred years later, the life of the negro is still crippled by the manacles of segregation and the chains of discrimination."
