- Hi, I'm Cierra and I've been playing softball since kindergarten. My mom has been with me the whole way, taking me to practices, games, and tournaments.
- Hey.. I have a lot of homework. Can I skip practice tonight?
- Softball stresses me out but what's worse is that my mom prioritizes it over everything else.
- What?! No. you need to practice there's a tournament coming up!
- It was game day and I was helping out on a team with my high school varsity coach. Everything was going well during warmups.
- That was until I was fielding a ball in the air and I stepped in a big hole and I heard a loud crack from my ankle and I fell. When I tried walking it off, I couldn't walk without limping.
- ouch!!
- I went to go talk to my mom about it quickly before the game started but she ended up brushing it off. I was in too much pain to ignore it but I did the best I could and kept playing.
- You'll be fine. It's just one game!
- When the game was over I felt awful because I didn't play very well because I was slow. I was in extreme pain since I was trying to cover the fact that I couldn't walk normally.
