- Sanguine or Sanguinary?
- I've always enjoyed going to the zoo. With friends, it's even more fun! I've known Abby since the day I was born. She's two years older than me, but I've always been the taller friend. It's fun to tease her for being short. Anyway, I decided to get us enrolled into a zoo camp so we could both learn about the science behind animals.
- Look at the cool fish, shorty!
- Neat! Wait...HEY! I'M NOT SHORT!
- Abby? What's wrong?
- One day, Abby and I were in the aquatic area of the zoo called Discovery Bay. We were waiting to meet up with the other campers. I was expecting this day to be normal. However, poor Abby had a scary experience I will never forget...
- A SHARK BIT MY FINGER, ISAAC! LOOK, IT HURTS SO BAD!
- OWW!
- She was not exaggerating. When I looked over, blood was oozing out of her finger. I could practically smell the metallic crimson lava since there was so much of it.
- You see, prior to this, Abby and I were sticking our hands in this tank with leopard sharks in it to feel them. The zoo promotes doing this so you can feel the bodies of the animals.
- DISCOVERY BAY

- Unfortunately, one of the sharks must have thought that Abby's hand was lunch.
- NOM NOM
- Oh my gosh! It'll be okay, Abby. Let's find an adult. Maybe they can help us.

- Abby and I then frantically ran around Discovery Bay trying to find a zoo employee. Eventually, we found our camp leader named Lacey who was supposed to look after us.

- Well, Lacey is a stereotypical sixteen-year-old girl. Phone addicted, boyfriend obsessed, and definitely not interested in the well being of eight-year-olds.
- In case you couldn't already guess, let me show you how the conversation with Lacey went...
- Ms. Lacey, can you help us? A shark bit Abby's finger! She's bleeding!
- Yeah, right! I'm busy texting my boyfriend, you little twerps! Go bother someone else. I don't get paid enough for this trash!
- Why are you yelling at me? I'm worried about her! What if she needs stitches or something?
- Fine! Here's some medical tape. She's fine. Leave me alone!
- I used the medical tape Lacey gave me to wrap up Abby's hand. The blood kept soaking through the layers, so I wrapped it tighter and tighter until the compression stopped the bleeding. Abby's eyes never stayed dry for the rest of the day.
- Screw you, Lacey!
- We were never allowed to call home and explain what had happened. Abby had to stay at this horrendous camp for the rest of the day traumatized.
