- The States' governments and the Federal (National) government join forces and work together, having delegated, reserved, and concurrent powers.

- Delegated powers include declaring war, maintain armed forces, establish foreign policy, regulate trade, establish postal offices, and coin money.
- Reserved Powers for State governments include establishing schools, regulate trade within states, conduct elections, provide for public safety, and establish local governments.
