  • Emily Murphy she fought for the right for wives to own property alongside of their husbands because of her The Married Women's Protective Act was created and passed in Alberta in 1911.Then she became the first female provincial court judge in 1916 in the British Empire.
  • Louise McKinney she was very loyal to the Women's Christian Temperance Union and due to her activism women achieved the right to vote in Alberta she also defended a bill that gave women the right to prevent their houses being sold without their knowledge also known as the Dower Act in 1917 she was the first woman elected to be a Member of any Legislative Assembly in the British Empire.
  • Nellie McClung initiated the fight for north american women the right to vote and because of her Manitoba became the first province to give women the right to vote and run for office in 1916. She became a liberal member of the legislative assembly in Edmonton from 1921-1926 and she was also the first female director of the board of the governors of the CBC in 1938.
  • .Henriatta Muir helped found the National Council of Women of Canada and she published Canadas first women magazine and she also helped found the Victorian Order of Nurses in 1897.
  • Irene Parlby spoke up for rural farm women of Alberta and became the first president of the United Farm Women's Association in 1916, she was elected to the Alberta Legislature in 1921 and became the first female cabinet minister in Alberta.
  • Emily Murphy, Nellie McClung, Henrietta Muir Edwards, Louise McKinney, and Irene Parlby are the five Albertan women that fought for women's rights
