- Valerie is having a talent show at school and wants to incorporate her dog coco into her act.
- Valerie decides on their act.
- Valerie decides that she wants to teach her dog how to do a dance trick for the talent show. The target behavior is her dog Coco will be able to do a trick to some music while she dances besides him.
- Valerie takes her dog outside to train him.
- Valerie uses peanut butter to get Coco to learn the dance.
- Valerie will use peanut butter as a type of reinforcement used. Every time her dog does a good job he will get a treat as a reward and if he doesn't then he will not.
- Valerie and Coco practice their dance routine continously
- Valerie will start the music on her phone and then start dancing, this will be Coco's scheduled reinforcement to start doing the dance trick with Valerie. After Coco does a good job throughout the song he will continuosly be rewarded with peanut butter.
- Valerie and Coco perform at the talent show.
- The day of the talent show Coco was able to perform excellently and remembered to do the dance at the correct time after being rewarded through being given peanut butter every time he did a good job.
