- I am a person because I have an inner life of thoughts and understandings. I know that I am a person and I have freedom!
- Personhood
- I am Adam, I was created in God's image and likeness
- Imago Dei
- It was not good when Adam had no one else like him
- I am sad when I have no one like me
- God took out a rib from Adam's body and made the first woman, Eve. God created man and woman to be equal to one another and close in heart
- Original Unity
- Adam instantly sees that Eve is another person like him. Another person who is able to choose love.
- "This one, at last, is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh"You are LIKE me!
- Together, Adam and Eve created the first marriage. They were unified in their love and formed one body and became one family. But, this unity did not destroy their unique personhood. Man and woman become a sign of God himself.
- First Marriage
- Adam and Eve did not feel shame around each other even though they were naked. Adam and Eve saw each other for who they were and they were completely vulnerable. They chose to love.
