- This act said that the colonists could only buy tea from the East India Company, the largest employer in Britain. If it went broke, the economical collapse would have been catastrophic.

- In order to not spend money on wars, Britain ordered the colonists to not settle past the colonies, so they do not have disputes with Indians.
- Declaratory Act of 1766
