- In Act I Scene 5 of Romeo and Juliet, Tybalt being forced to deal with his anger and vengeance privately pleases his uncle at the party, but also suppresses his anger and allows it to grow.
- The Capulets are hosting a party that Romeo, Mercutio, and Benvolio crashed. Tybalt notices Romeo and perceives this action as extremely disrespectful to the Capulet family despite Lord Capulet's approval of Romeo's attendance.
- Act 1 Scene 5 demonstrates the theme of living one’s truth privately by suppressing one’s feelings may please other people, but it can also allow anger to grow. This scene perfectly demonstrate the bubbling rage Tybalt feels towards the Capulets. Although he does not act on his aggression this night to appease his uncle, readers see he is not going to forget this incident or anger.
