- EXPOSITION
- The first thing that is introduced to us in the story is the setting which Is in New York and how the main character Jordan goes to a private school. We also get introduced to the main characters Jordan and grandpa.

- CONFLICT
- I don't know what to do!
- The two conflicts that are in the New Kid is person vs self and person vs society. It shows this in the story because it shows that Jordan is struggling to face his fear and bringing all his friends together and not just picking one.

- RISING ACTION
- Grandpa! I was just thinking about you. I called you a jillion times!
- I was Just thinking about you to! Sorry I just don't know how to do this phone stuff. Ill take you to this Chinese restaurant and you can show me!
- Jordan seeing his grandpa for the first time in a while sincehe moved retirement homes and he was having trouble working the phone. So grandpa decided to take him out to the Chinese restaurant so he could help him out and catch up.

- You don't always have to choose kiddo sometimes just let yourself be happy
- I don't know its usually just me or Liam or me and drew
- Grandpa gives him advice using a metaphor on him not choosing friendships

- IT took me a good few days to realize that grandpa's story was a metaphor,So I decided to see if general tso's chicken could get along with pepper steak.
- Jordan decided to take grandpa's advice and ask his 2 friends to play a video game.

- RESOLUTION
- Lets play guys!
- They wind up all having a Good timing forming a good relationship. Without grandpas metaphor the conflict wouldn't be solved.
