- Hello! My name is Rachel, and today we are going to talk about the importance of teachers collaborating with school colleagues, families, and agencies of the community to support student's learning and well being.
- What does this look like?
- This means working with other teachers to see what works best for students, talking to parents to learn more about each individual student, and networking with community members so students can learn important academic and life skills.
- What can we do in the classroom?
- Part of this is to seek and use resources available through the community and local institutions to actively build partnerships that enhance instruction and learning.
- Have fun with it!
- Networking with community members such as fire fighers, law enforcement officers, doctors, and more to make learning life skills meaningful and fun!
- Community members such as law enforment officers can visit the class to let us know what to do and how to be safe is a crisis ever occurs.
- Following the visit, make fun activities that kids will enjoy based on the information the community member offered to the class!
