- I have created a law that says that no more U.S immigrants can come to Texas.
- The Mexican state of Coahuila y Tejas creates it’s own colonization law in 1825. The law made it easy for U.S settlers to gain land in the state.
- Conventions of 1832 & 1833
- We want to become our own separate state!
- In 1827, Mier y Teran is sent to Texas and finds out that the Anglo influence is dangerous. His report led to the outlawing of immigration from the U.S into Texas.
- Austin’s imprisonment
- You are being arrested for treason!
- In 1860, the Mexican government creates a law for Texas. The law states that that settlers cannot come in not come in from the U.S anymore.
- The Consultation
- We should become independent!
- No, we should stay with Mexico!
- In the years of 1832-1833, Texan delegates meet up and make a list of grievances against Mexico. The Texans want to become a separate state of Mexico.
- Stephen F. Austin goes to Mexico to talk about what Texas wants in 1834. However, it does not go according to plan as Austin is arrested by Mexican officials for treason.
- The Texans decide to meet up in 1834 and decide whether to become independent or stay loyal. They form two parties: The War Party and the Peace Party.
