- I've got to get out of here!!!!!
- Faber said find the river...
- Montag finding the river
- This looks enough like a river to me. I guess I just have to follow it.
- Montag at the railroads
- I guess I'll just follow this as far away from the city as possible.
- South of City
- At this point in the novel, Montag was caught with literature and he's fleeing for his safety. Montag knows the ways of the world need to change, and it's about to.
- Meeting the Hobos
- Are ya lost?
- Ah, I see.. you'll fit right in with us. We're all scholars in literature.
- This square shows the river Faber tells Montag to follow to get out and away from the city, without being caught. Montag remembers Faber telling him, that if he follows the river enough, he should run into some railroads.
- Declaration of war
- Looks like the city declared a war.. This could be our chance to save society for the better.
- Let's start heading that way!
- In this scene Montag finds the railroads Faber had mentioned, and continues to follow them.
- Phoenix story
- The phoenix was a mythical bird that would live for years. After some time, the bird would light itself on fire and it was said that the bird would rise out of the ashes to start its journey over again.
- This was the safety Faber was talking about. Both the river and the rail road tracks had lead Montag to this group of hobos, who rebel against society by reading and memorizing books word for word before they burn them . Intellectual Harvard graduate hobos, who want to make a change in the society their in.
- Not lost, just trying to escape the city, I'm wanted for being in possession of literature. This society needs to change.
- Let me introduce myself. I'm Granger. You feel free can stay with us, we're part of the rebellion here.
- Granger sees the first bomb heading into the city. This means the city had finally declared a war. I guess Montag rebellion caught on... After Granger and Montag notice the bomb they figure it's a good time to start heading back to the city.
- Granger tells Montag a story about a mythical creature, a phoenix, on their walk back to the city. This story resonates with Montag as he feels he is very similar to the mythical creature.
- Hm..Kind of sounds like me.
