- In the late 1700s and early 1800s the British east India company exerted its influence over mughal empire and their territory. Soon the British east India company had control of all Indian subcontinent and ruled over the country.( paragraph 3)

- India's reaction to British taking over was not good. A rebellion broke out called the Sepoy rebellion which began May 10th 1857- November 1st 1858. This led to the loss of 800,000 Indians. In the end they were pushed back by the british east indian company.( paragraph 6)
- By the 1830s Britain made up the trade deficit with china by selling opium, but this soon led to a nasty addiction. The Chinese took action and destroyed opium causing wars. The British force occupied Shanghai and took complete control of canton. At the end of all the fighting they came up with policy's that ave all nations equal rights to Chinese markets. ( paragraph 7-9)
