- The characters are using the speaker-listener technique. Lilly is the speaker while Jasmine is the listener and she is paraphrasing what she hears Lily say.

- I honestly think what I needed were some words of affirmation, since I didn't get that I felt unloved in our friendship
- Here Jasmine is the speaker explaining what happened on her side of the argument. Lily is paraphrasing what she hears Jasmine say.

- Oh I understand that must be your love language. Since the way I show love is by physical touch I didn't really think that you might've had a different love language
- Me too I am so happy that we were able to communicate and not end up in a even bigger argument

- The characters are expressing what each one of their love languages is and why they need that feel loved or appreciated in the friendship.The characters also have an intellectual intimacy since the reason they met was because of a school project.
