After deciding to divide his kingdom, King Lear disinherits  Cordelia nd the Earl of Kent. meanwhile,  Edmund plots to turn his father against Edgar

Goneril and Regan treat their father horribly and he storms off in tears. edmund stages a fake fight to convince his father Edgar wnats to kill Gloucester
the king of france calls war on King Lear and before Gloucester can save him, he is betrsyed by his son , Goneril and Regan.
Goneril worries recently widowed Regan will steal Gloucester away from her. meanwhile King Lear is being nursed back to health by Cordelia.

Goneril and Regan fight over Edmund and both end up dead. King Lear dies from grief after seeing Edmund hang Cordelia.
