- This is a glucocorticoid hormone released by the adrenal cortex. Cortisol helps to increase blood sugar levels, enhance brain function, and suppress non-essential bodily functions that are not needed in a fight-or-flight scenario (e.g., immune response, digestion).

- Adrenaline (Epinephrine) and Noradrenaline (Norepinephrine) are produced by the adrenal medulla and released. Adrenaline increases heart rate, elevates blood pressure, and promotes the conversion of glycogen to glucose (raising blood sugar). At the same time, noradrenaline works alongside adrenaline to increase cell metabolism and helps redirect blood flow to muscles and the brain.
