- This summer, my family and I went to the beach in Atlantis city for a few days. We also go to a nearby boardwalk at some point of the vacation, but we are only able to get through ⅓ of the whole entire boardwalk. Another thing it’s that the beach in Atlantis city has some strong and high tides in the afternoon, and they were freezing too.
- Rising Action
- So on our second to last day on the vacation, we went to another beach in Wildwood, which took us 45 minutes to get there, then we took a half a mile walk to reach the shore of the beach. My body was filled with excitement since I haven’t gone to the beach for so long. But little do I know that something bad would happen later on.
- Climax
- After we arrived at the shore of the beach, my friend and I immediately went to the beach, tanking the waves and getting deeper into the ocean at the same time.
- Falling Action and Resolution
- As we’re getting deeper into the sea, the waves start to become stronger, to the point that it feels like I’m being pushed away from the shore, then I realize that I have been caught in a riptide.
- Although I know that staying calm is one of the ways for you to stay floating for a certain amount of time, I was panicking, because this never happened to me before, I wasn’t ready for this at all. My dad noticed I was having trouble floating so he try to get to me as fast as possible while the lifeguard also tried to catch up. But I was lucky enough to get my foot on a surface where I can stand.
- I took that chance and got back to the shore, at the same time my dad got to me on time. We started going back while having a conversation like this never happens. Then after a few minutes, I went back to the beach, just not as deep as before. So what an amazing story, went to the beach, went to another beach, almost drowned, what a fascinating experience.
